The snow is here and trails are opening! The TraiLink team has been out on the snow with devices for the past couple weeks and we’re extremely happy with the performance!

Although the External Interface is an add-on we highly recommend picking one up with the main TraiLink device. Being able to see group notifications at a glance is extremely useful. Not to mention, if you need help then simply press the button to notify your group.

Hope everyone is have a great holiday! Not enough snow to get the sleds out but fingers crossed for early January.

We’ve received a lot of questions about portability as TraiLink doesn’t have a built-in battery. This is to help reduce the size, weight and cost. But if you’re looking to take TraiLink on hikes and hunting simply connect a power bank and you’ll have power for days! Easily fits in a backpack or jacket pocket. We’ve had great results with the 10,000mAh Anker power bank and have seen over 72 hours of continuous use (connect to the mesh with other devices and Bluetooth with the phone).

Note, since TraiLink is a low power device most battery packs auto off after a minute. If you’re looking for a pack we recommend any of the packs that support USB-C power delivery (PD). These packs have the correct USB-C hardware to properly acknowledge a device is connected.

Another round of range testing with amazing results! Over 14km (line of sight) with a stable connection! Running the latest improvements to the antenna and firmware with a significant improvement from the previous 8km range. The antenna is omnidirectional and low gain so it’s optimized for elevation changes and meshing but still has amazing connection from point-to-point. More testing to come!
